Our first hike when we reached Utah was up a short canyon to see the Corona Arch, weirdly appropriate during the Corona virus pandemic.
We were lucky to have clouds...the temperatures were rising to nearly 100 degrees.
The arch was beautiful, the crowds were not. We were trying to avoid all contact with people, so we took a few pictures and headed back down the trail.
Later that night we drove out to Dead Horse State Park for sunset.
We could see the Potash Evaporation Ponds from Dead Horse. These pools were created to extract potassium chloride from the earth.
The Colorado River winds its way through the canyons. Some day we'll take a raft down that river!
Storm clouds on the horizon as the sun was setting.
It's amazing watching the light work its way across landscapes like this. It looks like another planet.
Not sure who these people are, but they made a great silhouette against the sunset.
